If you're planning to go camping this summer, you might be getting more and more excited by the day. Whether you go camping with friends, family, or loved ones, it's like checking something off your bucket list.

Essentials To Pack

Here are some of the most important things you should put in your bag right away before you start getting excited about camping.

1. Don't Forget How Cold It Can Be

Even if it's not the middle of summer, you can't take the weather for granted, especially at night when the temperature tends to drop when you're out in nature.
Always bring something to help you fight the cold because a sleeping bag won't do much for you. Even if the night is beautiful, you won't have any fun if you are freezing in the cold.

2. Light And Fire To Scare Animals

No matter where you go camping or what the authorities tell you, you are still in the wilderness. Because of this, you need to be careful. Animals are afraid of light and fire, so they wouldn't go near them at night.

So, always remember to bring a powerful flashlight and at least one extra battery. A source of fire that stays lit all night, since you can't let the fire go out at night. This is when wild animals in the area are most likely to attack campers.

3. Bring Extra Gas For The Car

You'll probably get there in a car or van. Don't forget to bring extra gas for the way back, because you might not be able to find a gas station.

Also, it's best to keep your tank full once you reach your destination. Just in case you need to leave early. This isn't meant to scare you or make you less excited about camping. It's just a safety measure.

4. Something Sharp

You don't know how often you'll need a car to set up a camp. From repairing the tent's ropes to slicing a loaf of bread. You can't just put your teeth in everything after Corona.
So, carry a pocket knife or one of those knife chains with blades for all sorts of things. There's even room for scissors and a nail file (although we doubt you will need the nail filer in any case).

5. Enough Water To Drink

You can't get water anywhere on the campground, so keep your water bottle with you at all times. Depending on how many people are going camping and for how long, keep a gallon or two if you can.

Water isn't just for drinking; it's also used to clean. You can bring tissue paper with you, but how useful will that be when you have to go outside? Water will be your best way to protect yourself from all the bacteria.

6. There Wouldn't be GPS

You won't have much cell service, so don't even think about getting online. It's almost a nightmare to get lost in the middle of nowhere. So, don't forget to bring along a physical map or compass. Just like back in the day!
